I recently posted about configuring RTSS to overlay CPU and GPU information on games in Windows 10. Here is my setup for Cyberpunk 2077, so that I can keep an eye on my framerates (when testing the plethora of graphics settings), CPU / GPU / RAM utilization and temperatures.

I am using the following (both need to be running):

I will skip the detailed steps, as it was all in my previous post. In short:

  • In RTSS click Setup and enable (check) the OverlayEditor.dll.

  • Then Setup the overlay editor and define the Data Sources - I use both the Internal HAL and HWiNFO64 sources for GPU and CPU utilization (%), temperature (°C) and RAM allocated (MB):

  • Create a layout, mine looks like this with 3 partially transparent graphs for framerate, CPU and GPU utilization behind the main numbers:

  • Finally, back in the RTSS main window, configure the location of the overlay by clicking the top left corner and using the arrows at the bottom to offset the layout by 16 pixels horizontally and 1 pixel vertically.

For the really lazy, here is my layout file - rename / save the file with the extension .ovl:

If all goes well, in the game, you’ll get the statistics displayed next to the mini-map looking like it belongs there:
